YMCA Camp Wapsie staff alumni are invited to gather for a traditional Labor Day Weekend camp reunion! The weekend will feature a canoe trip down the Wapsipinicon River from Paris Bridge to Pinicon Ridge Park, followed by a cookout, campfire social, and time to reconnect with fellow alumni. Alumni are welcome to bring their families.

A group campsite has been reserved for the weekend, with shared group campsites and tents available (campers are also welcome). Please note that water and electrical hookups are not available. Participants may register for just the day activities or stay and camp through the weekend.

Registration Includes

• Saturday evening dinner
• S’mores and campfire social time
• Camping through Monday morning

Additional meals are on your own.

Weekend Schedule

Friday, Sept. 4

• Campers may arrive anytime after 3:00 PM

Saturday, Sept. 5

• 12:15 PM — Meet at the Pinicon Ridge Park Watercraft Concessions parking lot to organize transportation
• 1:00 PM — Canoe launch at Paris Bridge
• After 3:30 PM — Guests attending only the evening activities may arrive
• Around 5:00 PM — Dinner and social time
• Campfire, songs, and s’mores to follow

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing or by email to [email protected]. Cancellations made fewer than 10 days before the program start date will forfeit the per-person registration fee. Remaining fees will be refunded. No-shows are not eligible for refunds.

Wapsie Adult Reading Retreat

Enjoy a relaxing reading weekend at YMCA Camp Wapsie. Join us Friday October16th at 6pm – Sunday October 18 at noon (meals included). This retreat is for anyone 18+ and has the focus on taking time for yourself or with friends, to just sit back and enjoy a good book.  Some of you may enjoy a full weekend of reading. We will also be offering some of our famous camp activities: archery, crafts, slingshots, and rock climbing. We have special opportunities this weekend for a painting class and chair massages. We recommend bringing a book for the book swap; one you love or one someone else might enjoy more. Find a new great read or enjoy an old classic.

Bring your friends! Each person will register individually then request to bunk with your friends as a group, or a duo for our relaxing reading weekend. The cost is $125 per person.

Books, e-readers, and audio books (with headphones) are allowed. Camp also has a library, consisting of mostly young adult and some classics for adult reads.

Cancellations:

Cancellations must be made in writing or by email, [email protected]. Cancellations less than 10 days prior to the session start date forfeit half the camp fees. No Shows will be charged the full fee. There is no refund for behavior-related problems including bullying, abusive language, use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or vaping products. Campers who leave or cancel on the advice of medical personnel will receive a prorated refund with a physician’s note.
