WELCOME CENTER STAFF LEAD PRAIRIE SUMMIT YMCA (FULL-TIME)

REPORTS TO:  MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR

Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants.  Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area. The Lead Welcome Center Staff models the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
  • Perform membership sign-up and program registration for all branch specific programs and services, from sign-up/registration through receipting and other required data entry.
  • Is responsible as the first go-to person when coverage is needed.
  • Schedule flexibility and availability.
  • Assist Membership Director with monthly programming drafts, reconciling paperwork, membership specials and special events.
  • Will assist with programming set up as needed.
  • Build, relationships with members to create a positive. environment at the Y. Also work with Prairie Summit Leadership team to help members connect with one another through daily activities and events.
  • Create and maintain a harmonious and positive environment with fellow YMCA staff, members, program participants, guests, and community members.
  • Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member service, handles and helps to resolve membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations and unresolved issues.
  • Assume other duties, appropriate for this position, as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree or 4 years of college in related field preferred or equivalent job-related experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in customer service preferred.
  • Previous sales experience preferred.
  • Possess enthusiasm and eagerness to learn new skills necessary to perform the job and to develop new/better ways of providing excellent member service.
  • Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Ability to exercise discretion.
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative, including both independent and discriminatory judgement.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
